Position Description As a member of the Bakery team, the support provider accepts and prepares product, maintains the Bakery area and displays, and sells goods in accordance with WFM standards. carries out all tasks involved in unpacking deliveries and stocking shelves. All retail positions at Whole Foods Market require maintaining a favorable company reputation by consistently offering customers and Team Members polite, helpful, and efficient service. All positions must be carried out in accordance with the team's and the store's SOPs. Additionally, Team Members must be capable of performing the responsibilities included in other Team Member job descriptions. Team leaders must spend a lot of time on the floor interacting with clients and offering assistance as needed. Whenever necessary. All positions must work to advance the core values and objectives of WFM, support local, regional, and store programmed and initiatives, and guarantee compliance with all relevant health and safety laws.


Task Responsibilities

  • Ensures a vibrant and appealing display by keeping shelves and cases tidy and fully stocked by rotating and removing expired goods, checking barcodes, and keeping fronts facing.
  • Shelves, bins, and display areas are stocked and cleaned.
  • Communicates waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisor while monitoring and preventing spoilage.
  • Maintains the condition of the back stock.
  • Helps with sampling programmed by maintaining attractive, full, and clean sample areas.
  • Aids in conducting recurring inventory checks.
  • Work all scheduled shifts and attend necessary meetings and training sessions while being punctual, properly groomed, and dressed for work.
  • Provides excellent customer service, responds to customers' needs quickly and effectively, and displays suggestive selling techniques. They also promptly and politely return calls and messages.
  • Maximizes sales potential by using efficient and legal methods for product preparation, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
  • Follows and complies with established procedures, such as Weights and Measures, health and sanitation regulations, and safe work practices, or ensures compliance with them.
  • Maintains or makes sure that a clean and sanitary environment is maintained in the workplace and in the retail setting; equipment is maintained in accordance with WFM safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Performs opening, middle, and closing tasks as needed; ensures that prices and signs are accurate.
  • Reports safety violations and hazards right away.
  • Carries out additional responsibilities as delegated by store, regional, or national leadership.

Experiences

  • No prior knowledge of retail is necessary.
  • Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Lifting 50 pounds must be possible.
  • 8-hour workday with 6 to 8 hours of standing and/or walking.
  • Using only one hand, performing precise manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • The following movements are necessary for work: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to cleaning agents approved by the FDA.
  • Temperatures encountered include freezing, refrigerators, and temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Working in both dry and wet conditions.
  • Having the flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
  • Possessing the ability to operate heavy machinery, including electric pallet jacks, knives, and box cutters.
  • Ladders might be needed.
