We at the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County are elevating youth programming. We are experts in youth development, giving children and teenagers a safe, affordable place to go during crucial after-school hours. Opportunity Overview: ATHLETIC STAFF
Help the programmed director run pre-planned programmed in the designated area. Expected to interact with young people and inspire them positively. Working directly with young people to ensure their safety, wellbeing, and development through interactive play and other activities as directed makes up the majority of responsibility.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for planning and executing summer programmed schedules on a weekly basis.
- Help maintain the facilities, equipment, and supplies while contributing to the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment.
- Participate in the creation, development, execution, and evaluation of projects, services, and activities.
- Make sure the office is productive.
- Prepare activities that will guarantee the availability of a programmed that is both culturally and developmentally appropriate.
- Create a positive rapport with kids and their families.
- Ensure that every room is kept to the highest safety standards, is arranged, and is clean.
- Using a Club twelve passenger van, walking, or taking public transportation, we safely and carefully transport small groups of kids to field trips.
- To guarantee the efficient operation of all programmed, regularly consult with the director and staff.
- Work the designated shift, with Work the assigned shift while being flexible.
- Carry out additional tasks as needed.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Retain regular, close communication with the supervisor, club members, and professional and volunteer staff. Engage in daily communication to exchange information, discuss problems, and clarify or interpret rules or instructions.
External: As directed by the supervisor, support external contact with community organizations, schools, members' parents, and others.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- GED, high school diploma, or enrollment in high school.
- Experience in youth development is preferred.
- It is preferred that you have knowledge of and/or experience working with a non-profit organization that promotes youth development.
- Strong customer relations skills, professionalism, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Knowledge of youth development principles and positive youth motivation skills
- The capacity to pick up new information and support it for the club's benefit.
- Experience working with kids in school preferred, but not required.
- Able to interact with kids and other adults in an effective manner.
HOURS: Variable Hour - Under 30 hrs
LOCATION: Sammamish Boys & Girls Club, 825 228th Ave NE Sammamish, WA
PAY RATE: $21/hr
FLSA Non-exempt, hourly
