The safe and dependable delivery of natural gas is ensured by engineering and developing hardware and software automation and control solutions for Gas Control, Operations Dispatch, and field locations. A large natural gas company is looking for a SCADA Engineer to test and validate process control systems, communication infrastructure, and information systems.
NO TRAVEL * GREAT BENEFITS * GROWTH WITHIN THE COMPANY * 401K AND 401SAVINGS PLANS *
Responsibilities:
- Provide system software and firmware updates for SCADA system testing and troubleshooting.
- In order to maintain the dependability of its operation, test all firmware updates to ensure there is no negative impact on the OT environment and all applications meet their functional requirements.
- Prior to implementation in a production environment, test new SCADA products in the lab with supporting documentation of results for recordkeeping.
- Give the staff at Gates, Pressure, and Plants technical assistance with a variety of new design installations and troubleshooting involving measurement, instrumentation, and controls.
- assist SCADA administrators with network configuration testing, deployment, and troubleshooting
- teaches end users how to use SCADA applications for Gas Control, Engineering, Pressure, and Gates.
- Vendor-specific test code for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- specific industrial programming languages to automate the control and monitoring of compressors, boilers, pumps, and valves in the plant for peak shaving operations, as well as the flow, pressure, temperature, and idolization of natural gas at the gate station.
- Using different protocols like UDP, TCP/IP, Modbus, and BSAP, test and validate diverse communication infrastructure to provide remote control and monitoring of Gate Stations and Plant systems across multiple media including cellular, radio, and microwave.
- interacts with vendors of communications and uses expertise in communication protocols to troubleshoot and fix issues
